We at Bolt FM will be celebrating our fourteenth birthday by broadcasting from most of the communities we have worked in over the years between March 2nd and March 8th.
Our volunteers, all aged between 10 and 25 will be on 106.7 FM between 8 am and midnight each day using both the main studio in Provanmill and our portable studio in other locations.
Local politicians and schools are getting involved too and the breakfast show will be presented by students at Smithycroft Secondary School each morning.
It is really exciting because the schedule has been made in such a way so we have programmes that will be broadcast live from lots of different locations.
This has meant the planning has had to be seamless in making sure we can make it work between our portable studio and our main one in Provanmill.
We did live coverage from the Commonwealth Games at the side of the road during the cycling time trial and it went really well, I have no worries and think the young people will work just as hard during the coming week.
Our radio station has been inspiring youngster in places such as Royston, Blackhill, Provanmill, Ruchazie, Haghill and beyond; offering not only a place to go in the evenings, but also the chance to gain Dynamic Youth Awards and Youth Achievement Awards.
Over the years Bolt FM has been commended for its efforts in eliminating gang violence in the city and the fact that the broadcast will be travelling throughout the week between the communities just shows how far we have come.
Tune in on 106.7 FM or via the website to hear some fantastic shows from our budding presenters and hear for yourselves!
